An ‘Omics Specialist
I am deeply passionate about innovation and the process of bringing groundbreaking ideas to life, particularly when they can make a tangible difference in the lives of those they are designed to help. I hold degrees in molecular biology and genomics and have since applied this solid foundation to a diverse range of fields, including gene therapy, microbiology, the microbiome, host-pathogen interactions, parasitology, and parasite genomics.
Throughout my career, I have gained unique expertise in both the experimental ("wet lab") and computational ("dry lab") aspects of molecular biology. As a wet lab scientist, I have conducted sample collections, developed novel assays, and troubleshooted complex in vitro and in vivo systems, generating large and meaningful datasets. On the computational side, I have managed, curated, and analyzed extensive datasets, including genomes from non-model organisms and atypical species, providing insights that drive research forward.
My diverse experience allows me to bridge the gap between bench science and bioinformatics, ensuring that research is not only conducted rigorously but is also translated into real-world applications.
